pods
These are small member committees or individual members responsible for operational matters.
POD members are selected for their specific skills, or interest in developing skills. PODs may be ongoing, or instigated as needed and dissolved when tasks are completed.
Each pod has a Pod Head -  a contact person in charge of reporting back to the committee on the progress of that pod.
POD groups meet once a month, or more as needed.

Our Kitchen Rules!

| Print |

The new VV kitchen is on its way. Designed and to be built by Steve, the Construction Pod Head, the new kitchen will be an invaluable addition to the Village. The kitchen will feature a mobile island bench for cooking demos, lockable storage space and place to capture food scraps for the hungry worms.

Water will come from our tank, with waste water collected in a bucket underneath the sink for re-use and gas will power a double wok burner.

It's too big a job for a fun bee, so we're working on a council grant to build it. If you're keen to get stuck into some construction, some other projects for upcoming fun bees include:

  • a kids education area under macaranga tree with benches painted by thekids
  • chalk/pin board in main education shelter
  • solar pump to pump water from bore to tanks
  • installation of pipes/taps to provide water to other areas of VV
  • industrial rotary composter

Thanks Steve and his creative advisors Lis, Dorothy & Libby for your time and expertise in designing the new kitchen. We can't wait to use it!
