Description

With the rising cost of food, it makes sense to grow at least some of your needs at home. Whether you have a small space, balcony or windowsill that you'd like to grow an edible garden or are renting and need ideas on temporary, mini portable gardens that you can take with you, you can get started right now. If you want to learn how to make wise use of the space you have, then come along to this workshop where you will:
  • learn ways to save money and be more sustainable by growing your own food and garden supplies.
  • find out how to save time & avoid expensive mistakes by learning about the special needs of small gardens.
  • be inspired with new ideas for pots and containers, growing indoors/outdoors and multi-purpose edible gardens.

The workshop will focuses on:
1. Design - Wise use of space and resources
2. Choosing Plants - that meet your particular needs and what grows well in pots and small spaces
3. Special needs of small gardens - Fertilising, watering and maintenance to grow nutrient dense food

Small gardens can be just as productive, much easier to maintain and are less time-intensive if approached the right way. Find out how to make your own potting mix, avoid common problems, plant for year round abundance and through clever design, have colour, beauty and fragrance even in an edible garden. Includes practical hands-on activities and take home notes.
